About Us

Southwestern Research, Inc. (SRI) specializes in studying depression, anxiety, and insomnia. All of our clinical trials are approved by the FDA and overseen by an institutional review board. There is no cost to participate in our trials. You may also receive compensation for your time and travel. During your initial visit, our experienced staff will listen carefully to you in order to understand what you are feeling. We will have time for you and us to see if one of our programs is right for you. You will also have the opportunity to read about the study and have all of your questions answered.

Scope of Research

We conduct clinical trials in the areas of Depression, Anxiety Disorders (including Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Attention Deficit Disorder and Panic), Insomnia, Female Sexual Dysfunction, and Bipolar Disorder. These trials are typically Phase II – Phase IV studies.

Physician Education

Dr. Munjack and Dr. Murphy are faculty at University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Munjack has taught resident physicians at the USC Medical Center in downtown Los Angeles for over 20 years. He is a full Professor of Psychiatry at USC. On occasion, Dr. Summers, Dr. Murphy, and Dr. Munjack offer CME lectures for physicians on topics of Depression or Anxiety in adults and children.

Patient Education

Our physicians and research staff educate patients about their illness and treatment options to help enable them to make an informed decision on how to help themselves. We also educate the public on psychiatric topics through community lectures (if you or your organization is interested in setting up a lecture, call for information if your group is in the Los Angeles or Orange Counties).
